In our first taste of the crazy year-long calendars that WNBA players typically play, Portland Fire fans can watch two of their expansion draft players take the court in EuroLeague, to try and win a championship before coming straight back to Portland to start training with a brand new franchise.

Chloe Bibby is up first, playing with Spar Girona against Fenerbahce Opet, who have a boatload of WNBA players (Breanna Stewart, Emma Meesseman, Gabby Williams, Sevgi Uzun, Julie Allemand, Iliana Rupert, Teaira McCowan).

Friday (tomorrow!) at 8:30 AM PST:

Carla Leite is playing in the next game, we hope: she suffered a laceration to the face two days ago in the previous round, and was really bleeding badly. I can’t find any updates, but I don’t believe the injury should have long lasting effects, but likely required stitches. It might be wise not to throw a player with a gash on their face back into high-level games, but we’ll see!
