One of the joys of having a writing space is the act of transferring thoughts through your brain, through your hands, though a keyboard or pen, and onto something external; the ideas have to go on a journey, and can change along the way.
One of the joys of gabbing is the lack of a journey that thoughts go to, the stream of consciousness of pure, nearly unfiltered takes.
Currently, I only get to partake in one of those joys when it comes to covering the Portland Fire.
So, I ask you, dear reader, if you would have any interest in audio content from this publication. No, I don’t think I would start a podcast – not a traditional one, anyways. Here are some ideas I’ve been mulling over:
Readings of posts I’m writing, with room for additional thoughts or digressions. Kinda like Rose-Colored Buckets the audiobook.
Game recaps/brain dumps while walking home from the arena: thoughts that are hot off the press, with only my memory and notebook to draw from, with observations from the game, traffic noises, and almost certainly random interactions with the general public mixed in. Very loose, very low stakes, potentially hilarious.
Conversations with fans: I would love to call on my fan friends and talk through ideas or takes, with people are aren’t content creators or take smiths, simply ball enjoyers. (Ok, that’s kind of just a podcast)
Really, I’m just looking for an excuse to buy some fun, entry level audio recording equipment. Will you give me the green light?
